Massih, also known as Marty, is one year younger then Mostafa and came to the United States alongside him in 1982 from Kabul, Afghanistan as a refugee. He grew up in Brooklyn Center, Minn. and went to Park Center Senior High. He began his career in business at the young age of 18 and quickly moved up the ranks of leadership at a local collection agency in Minnesota. After a dozen years in the recovery business, he moved to Jacksonville, Fla. to help build a global contact center where today he serves as President and CEO. Massih also founded Sarim Properties in Jacksonville, Fla. and participates in charities and serves on boards in both Minnesota and Florida. A resident of Florida, Massih also likes to spend his free time outdoors in northern Minnesota. He enjoys traveling the world, playing golf, and is the proud father of Kali, his soon-to-be 19-year-old daughter, and fellow board member. Massih lives the fast life and is always on the move. He loves to work hard but play harder. His never-give-up attitude and fierce competitive nature is addicting and rubs off on everyone around him. Massih is truly honored to be able to be part of this charity and to keep his older brother’s legacy alive for years to come.

Seraj Sarim grew up in Brooklyn Center, Minn. and is Mostafa’s youngest brother. He ignites those around him with his adventurous spirit and unending enthusiasm. He graduated from Park Center Senior High School in 2002 and and went on to earn his degree in television production in 2007. During college, he worked as a paraprofessional with a local school and discovered his passion for working with young people. An artist and photographer, his travels have brought him around the world to places like Alaska, Tanzania, and Kathmandu, Nepal where he studied at a Buddhist monastery and volunteered with an orphanage in the city, an experience that has shaped his worldview. His eye for detail and the story behind the lens influence his role as a photojournalist daily and as a student of the world, he aims to bring that inspiration with him to Moe123 to help students in their endeavors and honor Mostafa’s legacy each and every day.
Danielle Sarim grew up in Brooklyn Park, Minn. and is Mostafa’s sister-in-law. She is a 2008 graduate of Park Center Senior High School. Like Mostafa, Danielle has always gravitated toward school and education environments. Insatiably curious about the world around her since she was a child, Danielle has always asked questions to dig and discover her passions to serve a purpose greater than herself. She honed her love for writing and languages during college and graduated with her B.A. in English, professional writing, and communication studies from Concordia University, St. Paul in 2012. She has built a successful career in marketing and communications since 2012 and is a copywriter at a university in the Twin Cities metro area. She volunteers locally in Brooklyn Center as an ELL teaching assistant and tutor. She is a writer, poet, voracious reader, cat-lady, pilates/yoga enthusiast, and is enamored with travel - especially the mountains. She is honored to serve as a Moe123 board member where she will strive to lift our community’s scholars through their dedication to education and keep Mostafa’s memory alive through each step.
Kali Sarim was born in New Hope, Minn. and is Mostafa’s only niece. She grew up in Plymouth, Minn. and has played soccer and basketball since she was eight years old.
